Here We Go!

It's 10:30 and I've gone on a half hour walk, done the Wii fit for a half hour, had 36 ounces of water and a healthy breakfast.  I'm committed to being more committed this round.  And by golly, I am going to steer clear of the ten pounds of Easter candy staring me in the eyes {seriously, the Peeps, they're looking at me}.  I am bound and determined to have self control.  Tell me whay you guys are doing to avoid the bounty of yesterday's candy harvest - short of dumping it of course, which would never fly with my kids!

  1. I ate so much chocolate and junk this weekend that my body is CRAVING veggies, fruits, whole grains... Let's hope that continues!

  2. I have a really control freakish suggestion: divy it up among the candy eaters (maybe even include yourself). Put everyone's candy in his/her own container. Make the kids write down every last morsel of the bounty and tape it onto the container. Have them check every day that you've been accountable and haven't dipped into their stores. Yeah, super freaky!

  3. Ok, I'm doing half of Melissa's suggestion, because I'm not that freaky. It's all in ziplock bags with their names on it.

  4. I bought candy that I don't like. I didn't even buy any jelly beans, which is craaaaazy. My son said...where's the jelly beans? I would have have chowed down on them. After eating too much chocolate and a cupcake on Easter...I had serious tummy trouble, so I'm steering pretty clear from it all.

  5. I'm a true fan of putting the candy in ziplocks. I also have a bucket of treats I keep in my pantry, usually I try to eat all the stuff I like in one day so it's not around to temp me. Not the best idea but what I've done in the past.

I really enjoyed everything yesterday including my kids candy.

The smart thing I did was buy those really really small bite size candies. Tonight after dinner I enjoyed one. It was hard but very realistic. We'll see how the rest of the week goes. As they start eating less I usually toss it all.

  6. Jonah ate his first peep today on the way home from D.C. He's a fan....unlike Chris. He is soooooooooo like his mom.

  7. He is soooooooo like his mom! All of our chocolate melted in our HOT house today, so we chucked it. It sounds like yesterday was a bit of a shocker on all of our systems. I am so glad the challenge started today...just in time! And Jen? No jelly beans? How could you? Just kidding, I think your idea of buying candy you don't like is pure genius. You're so smart Jen.

  8. It's great to start the challenge the day after Easter!! I ate so much food yesterday that today I had to force myself to eat and could hardly wait to get to the gym!

  9. Luckily Christina has outgrown the easter basket/candy so I did not get any candy for easter. But I do have leftover, coconut custard pie, banana cream pie and coconut cupcakes in the fridge. The rest of my family is doing a good job eating it all up so hopefully it will all be gone soon.
