BUMMER!

Okay ladies, I've not wanted to post this so as to not be a downer, but I have had my happy life flipped upside down because I found out last week that I have 3 herniated discs in my lower back. PHOOEY! I'm very grumpy about it and am trying really hard to do as much exercise as I can with out hurting it more. My Physical Therapist says she'll be working my core, so that's a bonus...I suppose. The good news is that walking feels GREAT! It keeps my heart and mind happy. The biggest problem is bending over to put my sneakers on. :( The best part is since I can't touch my toes, I get to get a pedicure everytime my toe-nail polish chips. haha! (Can I claim that as a medical expense on my taxes?)

Keep up the good work ladies!!!

  2. Ouch! Back problems of any kind are the worst. I say lots of pedicures until things improve. Take care of yourself.

  4. Thanks girls. So far, no surgery. They are going to treat it with Physical Therapy first to try not to operate. For that, I am grateful.

Marci, I've been functioning okay. I have a great visiting teacher and an AMAZING 11 year old!! She'll be 12 in one month. :( She's been such a great help to me.

  5. Hang in there girl! Eat right, walk and you'll still make progress before Branson.

  6. I'm so sorry, my husband has herniated discs and I see how painful it is! Good luck with therapy, I know that cortisone shots helped him!

  7. Oh man, that BITES! Just when you passed that 27-days-to-form-a-new-habit window. But don't despair. You can still stay in your groove with walking and eating right. There's nothing about fitness that says you have to do hard-core workouts to lose weight. Just stay active and eat those good calories and you'll continue to progress. Carry On! :)
