I'm dying!!!!! (good dying)

Guys, I am so excited and I can't get a hold of anyone on the phone to tell, so I am telling you...

I just found out that I came in 11th place in my trail run!!! I was just worried about completing the run...what a nice surprise to discover that I was just 7 minutes behind the 5th place girl. Next year I am doing it again, and I'm going for that 5th place time. I think I could shave 7 minutes off my time. That's not too tricky, huh?

Thanks for letting me shout this to ya'll. I was just way to excited to keep it in!!!!

  6. Marci- I'm dancing around the house right now for you, and I might even go do a dance around the neighborhood. That is so excited and I hope you feel the high of it all for a long time! I'm curious what shoes you wore as well?

  7. I didn't wear my vibrams. Sad huh. I ended up hurting my foot a bit in Taekwando two weeks before the race, so I rand down to the local running store and got a pair of the ugliest shoes in the world. They are called green silence by Brooks, and they are the ugliest racing flats. I love them thought and finished out my training in them, and the transition was painless. I am doing Ragnar this weekend, and then I will go back to running in the Vibrams. They are just so wonderful, and I have missed them. There was a guy there who ran in his Vibrams, and he did the marathon. When he crossed the finish line, his toes were all bleeding. Poor guy. I think with all the sharp rocks his feet took a big beating. He said he just wanted to say he did it. Amazing! But crazy. Thanks for all the encouragement. You guys are all so great. It was just so much fun, I still get butterflies in my stomach when I think about it.

  9. That is really amazing. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around running that far, let alone putting in a competitive time. Clearly, you have a body meant for running. What a great motivator for you!

  10. Congrats! That is wonderful. Trail running can be so hard and you not only rose to the challange but kicked some tail as well. Way to Go Girl!!!!

Do you love the Vibrams? I have lower back and knee issues and am wondering if those would help or hurt.
