Back at it again, II

Yesterday, I was sitting on the floor with my daughter reading a princess story when suddenly my back revolted. Some key lower back muscles said "Well, if you're not going to exercise your back muscles regularly, sorry, you can't just expect us to do our thing after a core workout again. Lady, you're not 16 any more." After crawling around the house for 30 minutes and walking around the house leaning again walls and chairs for another 30 minutes, I was finally able to stand up straight. So no gym today, just stretching exercises and child's pose.

Paying the price for slacker choices is no fun at all.

  1. Ok Melissa, this post kind of weirded me out! I was going to do a post just like this today! After I had my last baby, I had some back problems, but as soon as I started exercising, they went away. Since I've been slacking this last month, my back has become weak. This last Sunday, my back went into spasms again. I can barely walk it hurts so bad. I actually forgot how much the exercise was helping my back because it felt so good for so long. GRRR! Any way, weirded out is probably not the right word. I started reading this post and thought, "seriously, did I right this in my sleep?" Hope you feel better soon, and I'll be thinking of you when I do my back exercises today!

  2. Oh, Alicia, we're living in parallel worlds! Cool. Sort of. Would be cooler if our parallelisms were that we just ran a 5k on the same day and time.

I will be cat arching, hanging from doors, doing simple floor stretches. I can't lift my pelvis in bridge right now. How about you? Any good back exercise tips?

  3. I'm right there with ya! Went to the doc on Tuesday and got some muscle relaxers and have been heating and icing the back. The mornings are horrible but later on in the day it seems to losen up a little.

  5. My goodness, what is going on? It must be national sore back week! Girls, I hope you feel better soon. I am taking the week off too. I hurt my foot sparing in Taikwando. Sorry, I am not sure how to spell it and I am too tired to look it up. Anyway, get better quick, and have your honeys give you a good back massage!

  6. I've had the great fortune to only "throw out my back" a few times in my life, and I think it was only during my pregnancies. You have my deepest sympathies if you deal with chronic back pain. Ouch!!
