Ms. Thunder Bumper's Challenge #2 Summer Goal Update

Ok, I hope most of you have already taken the easy road for the 10 point challenge of checking out your summer goals. Now it's time to give us a little report.

5 points for commenting on this post about your goals OR
10 points for posting something about them.

Did you do any of them?
How'd it go?
What do you wish you had done...excuses?
Sense of accomplishment?

You get the picture.

If you're a newbie just tell us about something you did...it didn't have to be put on our summer goal list.

You have until Sunday night to complete this.

  1. We're zoning in on each other's brainwaves, because when I looked at my original summer goal statement, I had this to say:

"Well, so far I've achieved all my health/weight-loss goals, and then some!

But the rest is completely shot! I wound up changing my focus mid-summer, because we needed more money immediately, so I started selling my craft stuff on eBay again.

I thought it would be easier to get things done with the teenagers home this summer to help me with the little kids, but it seems like the opposite is true. When school starts here in a few weeks, the teenagers go back to school, and my 5-year-old starts kindergarden, leaving me with the 2-year-old and the baby. Frankly, I can't wait! I wish they'd all get out of my hair, so I can get things done!

Here's my work plan: do eBay and craft stuff the next few weeks, getting a website up and running with a shopping cart and coordinating it with my eBay store. Then, when the kids are back in school, I will spend 2 to 3 hours a day on my Medical Transcription."

Maybe I'll post something about my craftroom and eBay business, etc., by Sunday.

  2. Um, yeah, do I really need to answer that?! Ok, fine.... AHHHHH! I didn't do any of it. But, here's the thing... I have a million and one excuses I could post on here, but I'm not going to make excuses because the bottom line is if I wanted it to happen, I could have made it a priority. Keep moving forward!

  3. I went back and looked at my list and realized it was totally ridiculous. What was I thinking? It's for sure I wasn't thinking that it was summer, that I was traveling and that I was never going to cross all those things off of the list. Realistic, when it comes to goals and list making I'm never realistic.

I can report that my shin splints and Plantar Fasciitis are pretty much gone. I changed my cardio exercise and tried to do the exercises for the plantar fasciitis...both helped to decrease those problems.

Another goal was to spend time with family and friends and I feel like I was successful with this goal of course that's one of the reasons why I didn't accomplish all those other goals on my list.

I agree with Alicia, bottom line if it was really important it would be a priority, people are my priority.

  4. So I weaned my baby. And now I have an infected breast to prove it. Waaa!

I also made great progress on the basement renovation. Still have one room to paint, a piece of furniture to reinvent and a couch to buy, but it'll have to go slowly.

    Exercise . . . what's that? Ugg.

Date night . . . again, what's that? Double Ugg.

    Skinny jeans, I hate you.

  5. I accomplished my goal, which was not to kill my children before school started. It was hard. And tiring. But they are alive and well. So yay for me! :)

My goal since school started is to read our scriptures as a family (at least 5 days a week). I'm not including my husband in this goal, because it's easier to read as soon as school gets out before all the kids are hyper and want to just go play outside. Hopefully I'll stick to this goal.
