The digging crew

Every year we try to make improvements on our yard. 2 weeks ago we decided to dig a hole for our trampoline. Do you know how HUGE our tramp is? 15x15! The Heaps were up for the challenge.
Heres my crew on day 3. We decided to break it up in 4x4 foot square sections and do one each night. It makes the elephant a little easier to eat :)
We have been working hard but we should be done by this weekend. I will post more pics later.
Some great things about digging:
Our family working, talking, and laughing together
great exercise
fresh air
Seeing progress each night

I never thought I would enjoy digging a hole so much :) I guess I can count this as exercise points don't you think?

  1. That is going to be one huge hole! Smart to break it up! Plus bonus family time. Just think of the great core workout you'll get from doing flip flops on it when it's in the ground!

  3. Yes you can count it has exercise points. Digging is hard work and burns lots of calories.

  4. Our 12 year old loves to dig holes. When we go to the beach each year for Memorial Day he is immediately digging a hole to China with a big shovel. I wish I could send him your way. Your tramp would be in the ground in no time! :)

  5. Get the movie HOLES and your whole family will love it. Good Disney movie about digging "holes".

  6. What great fun! I'm going to have to step it up a bit especially when you start doing some serious training for that half. You're going to be getting some serious points!!

  8. We have lot's of wind where we live and our net keeps getting torn. We even had to strap it on 2 sides to cement. We decided to put it in the ground then no more net and no more worries of blowing away.
Our neighbors trampoline blew OVER their house and down the street! Yes, it gets VERY windy :)

  10. Wow! Your yard looks huge! What a fun family activity! When I was growing up, and my family had a big project to tackle, we called it a 'partly' -part work, part party! We'd work half the day, then go to the beach for the other half.
