Chasing the Wagon!

Monday was rediculous. I'm not sure why, the morning started off good but by late morning the feasting began. My day looked something like this.

Nothing was satisfying. I actually did eat three healthy means but my old fall back of eating to much between every meal and late into the night seriously kicked in. It was like my mind was fighting back saying hey lady, where's all the sugar, the cup of nuts with chocolate chips....FEED ME! It was a bit discouraging but yesterday was a much better day.

For me progress sometimes is so small that I get frustrated. I want to see super fast awesome results for my hard work. I have to keep remembering that I want to make a real change not a temporary one and that takes time.

So as I get back up on the wagon and keep rolling I'll remember this.

True life is lived when tiny changes occur. -Leo Tolstoy

  1. At least you got up and saw the wagon driving off! And you'll catch it and get back on. You are a great inspiration and a real human. And I adore you.

  2. Love your post! I just ate ice-cream at 9:00am!! Oh, don't worry, I ate my healthy breakfast after... got to get those points in! UGH!!! I figure it's early enough that I can keep my calories in check if I am a good girl the rest of the day!! Let's get back on the wagon together!!

  3. I'm so glad other people are having pig-out moments too! Just chalk it up to a free day! The great thing about dieting is, you can always start over tomorrow.

  4. I keep thinking that the more I put healthy food in my body, the less I'll crave the sugary sweet stuff. And that's been somewhat true, but not entirely. My brain remembers that taste & texture of a Samoa. Wouldn't it be great if we could shut those taste memories down somehow so as to avoid the craving.

I was watching the Biggest Loser last night and realized, with great admiration, the enormous amount of energy and constant vigilance needed to stay on track in the face of temptations.

  5. I think total denial of all those good caloric foods we love can lead to over indulgence or bingeing. Healthy eating requires a good balance of all foods eaten in the right proportions. It's okay to eat a Samoa, some ice cream or even french fries occasionally. It's a balancing act but I think all of you are capable of doing that.

Audrey, take it a day at a time and just keep climbing back onto, into on top of that wagon.

  6. It's actually very comforting for me to know I am not alone in my crazy binge thoughts and sometimes actions. I had a bowl of cocoa puffs and wrote down all my calories and you know what...it really wasn't that bad. I guess it's about moderation. The amount of exercise I'm doing is killing me and I can't stand the thought of eating so much the exercise is pointless...that kinda keeps me going :)
