So as the joyous Thanksgiving holiday approaches I have been thinking about doing a turkey trot. There are quite a few available in my area and despite the potential for very cold weather, I am actually quite excited about it. I figure it is a great way to insure I get my workout in on Thanksgiving day and maybe take a twinge of guilt away when I go for a second piece of pie :P. How about all of you? Any one else considering a turkey trot? It is called a trot after all so you don't have to be fast and walking is always allowed. Anyway if you haven't thought about it maybe you should. Love you gals!
Cammy! You're awesome! I have never done a Turkey Trot, but it sounds like such a good idea for balancing out everything you eat on Thanksgiving day. I can't wait to see your post on it! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI have done a Turkey Trot the last three years with a friend. This year I'm not doing one because I'll be in Florida for Thanksgiving. I'm hoping the friend I'm going to visit will be up for a good long run/walk that day.
ReplyDeleteYou should totally do it. It's a great way to get the metabolism going on a big eating day. Also, a walk after the meal instead of laying down is a good idea too!
Have fun!
P.S. Love the Picture!
Do you have to dress up like a Turkey? All the fam here is abandoning us this Thanksgiving except for the cyclist son who will probably cycle a few thousand miles before dinner. Maybe I'll stick a feather in my hair and trot around the local school track for 3 miles, can I count that as a Turkey Trot?
ReplyDeleteSounds fun!
ReplyDeleteAud - What's in Florida?!
We do one as a family every year. It's a fun and perfect way to start off the day!!
ReplyDeleteQueen V. I love it, and if you actually do it I think you can for sure count it, but only if you post a picture ;)
ReplyDeleteEven if I'm alone, I think I'll do a Turkey Trot.
