I diligently got up this morning to exercise after my sugar induced coma. I was doing this move with the exercise bands to mock a pull up (which I can not do). As the thought came to me, "I wonder if the band would hurt if it snapped in half. And then it happened. I have big welt marks across my chest and arm, and a nice big bruise. And the answer is, YES IT DOES HURT. Do you use exercise bands. I don't think I will use them again. I can do an imitation pull up by using a chair, but due to back injury it's harder. Maybe I just gotta avoid pull ups til my back gets stronger.

  1. I am soo sorry! Those bands break all the time during class at the gym. We have all learned to check for weak spots before using them! I hope you aren't too bruised!

  2. Oh my goodness Alicia, that is so scary!!! Are you ok? That must have really hurt. I am so scared of that happening, but didn't know that it really did. I'm boycotting my bands!

  3. I have had one snap on me too! Fortunately the move I was doing did not put me in harms way but I am always a little nervous when I use them now. I hope you are okay!

  6. I've had a couple of bands snap on me but I was doing them for leg squats. I wouldn't stop using them but take Jill's advice and check out the band before hand.
