Who Knew

Who knew I could eat within my designated calorie range?

Who knew that I could run for 5 minutes without stopping?

Who knew that I don't NEED to have a sweet after a balanced meal?

Who knew that I could feel in control of my eating habits?

Not me.  But now I know.

For years I've been telling myself I can't change or that I'm not in control of my health.  For the first time, ever really, I do feel in control.  I feel like I can make good choices even when it's hard.  I haven't been picture perfect nor do I ever plan on perfect perfection but I do have this renewed hope that positive changes will happen as I try.

  1. It's a powerful feeling to know you can make good choices. And you can! Way to go....I'm especially impressed with the 5 minutes of running! That's quite an accomplishment!

  2. Yeah Jennifer. Yes you can run, consume the correct amount calories, eat healthy and be in control. It's all a matter of choice/free agency. Just like the little engine, you have to keep saying, "I think I can, I think I can", not I think I CAN'T.

Isn't it a great feeling knowing the you are the one in control. Food is fuel, food is good but it is till just fuel. I'm sure soon you will be running 10 minutes and then soon 20 and before you know it a whole half hour. We here at Healthy Wife believe YOU CAN! We believe in YOU!

  3. I love the cheerleading squad here! Rah, rah, rah, GO TEAM!!

Yes, that is exactly how I feel, about feeling in control for the first time. I've tried exercising before, and kind of guessing that I was eating healthy, but I've never made myself measure it before now. Now I know what the cost of that second helping is, that skipping that extra scoop of ice cream really makes a difference. And all that effort is showing up on the scales, and in how my clothes fit. It's awesome!

  4. Jennifer- Isn't it an amazing feeling. Becoming the person you want to be is the hardest thing you will ever do. But is also the most rewarding.

  5. Jenn
I was so proud of you today! That last uphill stretch wasn't easy and you just kept going? Have I told you how awesome you are? Thanks for being so fun and encouraging to run with. 5K here we come!
