This is my first post on this blog. I have been reading it for about a week and love hearing about everyones fitness goals. My name is Emily Shafenberg. I live in Thornton, CO and have lived here my entire life. I married my high school boyfriend. We have been married for almost 7 years and we have 5 kids! Crazy, sometimes I don't believe it. My oldest son is Aydan, today is his birthday and he is 5, my daughter Lilia would be 3, she is with us in spirit, Asher will be 2 this Friday. My biggest adventure is having my baby twins who are now 2 1/2 months old, Ella and Cruz. Life is pretty chaotic and busy, but we have fun and just take each day as it comes. I love being active but currently don't have the time. My husband works crazy hours and some days I feel like a single mom. This challenge is something for me to do that isn't about my kids. I don't know how the counting calories will go, I am constantly hungry. I am hormonal and trying to accept this post twin-pregnancy body. I don't usually eat dinner until 8-9 at night so I guess I will be going to bed later:) I love that this is a competition, I am extremely competitive, so here I go.

Emily dear one, welcome, welcome! Love your Easter picture.
ReplyDeleteLadies, Emily is one smart, talented, generous, fun, beautiful woman. She not only has 4 cute kiddos under the age of 5, she also baby sits her sister's kids and teaches piano and fulfills her church responsibilities. I don't know how she does it all, her life is hectic!
She's a super friend/daughter/mother/wife, has a great sense of humor and will be a grest asset to this group.
Emily, do try to eat dinner earlier, it will help you meet your goals in the challenge. I know it's hard with all that you have on your daily schedule but give it a try.
So happy you joined!!!!!!!!!
Emily, what a great picture!! Glad to see you on here, how fun!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Emily is here! Welcome! You are already a champion in my mind because you're here with 2 and a 1/2 month old twins. Wow!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the group Emily! You have a beautiful family. Just remember you have EVERY RIGHT to be hormonal... especially with twins!!! Just take one day at a time and know that bad days don't make a bad mom:) It sounds like you are doing amazing though!
ReplyDeleteI am excited to get to know you! Good luck :)
Wow Victoria, thank you! I really needed to hear some of those things. I will work on eating earlier. Hello to everyone, I am excited to join all of you.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Emily! So excited to get to know you.
ReplyDeleteLadies, you better watch out because Emily is in it to win it! She is my BFFL, and around these parts we call her "The Dominatrix" because she dominates every game we ever play!
ReplyDeleteSo you all better BRING IT!
Honestly, I adore her and I know you will too!
Oh my Emily, that is about the cutest matchy family picture I have seen in a long time. I want to gobble those twinners right up!
ReplyDeleteHere's advice from one new(ish) momma to another: go check out mypyramid.gov. There is a specific section there for new mommas and nursing mommas. The good news is that you get extra calories! :) The other good news is that you burn extra calories feeding those young pups! :) Take your time, enjoy those babies, and start getting healthy as your life permits. WE're so, so happy to have you along!
Yay, it's so fun to see a new face! I look forward to getting to know you and having another person in this awesome group of woman. This blog is such a strength to me and I know it will be to you also. Welcome!
