New Favorites

Do you have a Sunflower Market in your neighborhood. A friend of mine introduced me to this place and I am hooked. All of the produce is locally grown (correct me if I am wrong?) and the prices on produce can be super cheap. Wednesday is their double sale days. Everything from last week and this week is on sale together. I stuffed my fridge for $30. Literally stuffed. There is not room for one more thing.

This was also on sale, and my friend said it was a must try. Oh my, I am hooked. If there was ever such a thing as healthy Cheetos, this is it! I can put this in my kids lunches without one bit of guilt. It's oven baked, all natural, no preservatives, gluten and trans fat free, low in sugar, and calories. The best part is, not only can I pronounce all six ingredients, I also know what they all are! I know in the supermarket, these can be close to $5 a bag. OUCH! But it was on sale at Sunflower Market for 3 for $5. That's a little more like it.

  1. What a wonderful place. I am going to have to look into that and see if we have one here. That would be awesome. Those Cheetos are making me drool! Our food budget has been so bad since we moved here to dc. I feel like it really is so expensive to eat healthy. Do you have the same problem? My kids are eating so much more now that they used to... Having a place like Sunflower Market would make the budget a bit better.

  2. We have no Sunflower or Sprout grocery stores here in Virginia. I love gong to both of them in the Denver, CO area when I visit family. The prices are terrific and so is Pirate Booty. Love that stuff and love the name, just makes you happy.

  3. We don't have any of these markets either. But "pirate booty" looks like a real treasure! (Kind of like popcorn: eating flavored air).

  4. Try Trader Joe's for healthy popcorn too.

  5. A sunflower market is opening up right next to my target! I didn't really know what it was, but now I can hardly wait!

  6. Small town, so not a lot of choices. But I love Quaker mini rice cakes, lots of delicious flavors! About $3.50 a bag.

  7. No Sunflower here, totally west coast.

I've been a fan of pirate booty since I lived in NYC! Trader Joe's does have the best prices on that stuff too!
