So I have not had a good couple of days between staying within my calorie range and fruits and veggies I have bombed bad. I think it all started when I went to out to lunch with a co-worker and lost all will power. That was on Wed and it has been downhill since. I decided I can't get upset about it or I will end up eating more. I am going to watch a movie and have some air popped popcorn and chill out. Hope everyone else's week was great.
What does Dory on Finding Nemo say? "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming." Or maybe it's going...?
ReplyDeleteIn any case, last night as I tallied all my calories for the day, I decided (mind you at 11 at night) that I was using it as a free day! Everyone needs a day or two a month (or week) to fall on their behind. Just keep swimming, even if it's a doggy paddle. :)
Susan, isn't life about bouncing back from things that may go awry? First, I hope you enjoyed your lunch with your friend. Friends and lunch can always energize the soul.
ReplyDeleteSecond, my theroy is that if I can continue to make better choices over time it's a good thing. It took me a a little more than a day to bounce back from my Monday eating of all cereals that tasted good but I did.
I think once we get in the habit of making better choices all the time we can enjoy a little and then continue to make good choices without beating ourselves up over the "pleasures" we partook of. We need to enjoy those moments just as much as we enjoy our success of being healthy women.
Hope you enjoyed your movie and popcorn! Tomorrow is a new day!
Don't beat yourself up over it. Think of all the days you've been making healthy choices and focus on those. I was listening to a song the other day that had the line "Good is better than perfect." And I've been thinking about that a lot.
ReplyDeleteI had a tough day of all-day craving yesterday. I just wanted to eat a dozen cookies! As we're coming to a close on our first challenge I'm trying to find a way to stay motivated on our week off. It's the week leading up to Easter and I want to pig out on cutely decorated sugar cookies and Easter candy. Aaargh!
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteHop back on the wagon, you can do it, just like the UT pioneers and don't look back!
I like what you said Audrey! We can continue to make good choices over time, and that's what it is all about. I am so glad we have each other for support, especially when we have bad days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the kind words of support! You ladies are awesome :)
